Although Blaine's (Darren Criss) eventual transfer to McKinley seems inevitable, Darren does not want it to happen.
As he explains, "As a fan of the show, I think Dalton is a really cool dynamic to have and people respond to it so well that why would you get rid of that?"
He likes how "Glee" showcases the contrasts between McKinley and Dalton. As he explains, "I think keeping him there around just to have this other function of this world they've created of Lima, Ohio - there's another school, there's other people - the more you can explore the worlds the better. And yeah, I don't want to go to McKinley."
Darren also admits that he loves prep school uniform and utopian slushie-free world.
Although I may be in the minority, I agree with Darren on this one. Transferring him to McKinley would be too contrived and predictable.
Being part of Dalton Academy adds to his appeal because he is able to bring a different perspective to the show. Besides, I love when the characters call him "Blaine Warbler!"
And it just doesn't make sense that Blaine would want to leave his beloved singing group. At Dalton, he's a star. Why give that up just so he can spend choir practice competing with Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) for solos?
In a "Dead Poets Society" meets "Glee" project, I'd like to see a Dalton Academy spin-off with more screen time for David and Wes (the Asian Warbler), Kurt dating Blaine, and Santana (Naya Rivera) dating Wes (they had some adorable chemistry during the Valentine's Day episode--of course, that was before "Glee" decided that she was "Lebanese").
Of course, a Dalton Academy spin-off is unlikely to happen, as fans seem more interested in a post-graduation spin-off featuring Finn (Cory Monteith), Rachel, and Kurt.
Would you like to see Blaine join New Directions? Or is he better off with the Warblers?
