Adele: Surgery successful, prognosis good, her doc says

Adele: Surgery was a success, Adele: Surgery successful, prognosis good, her doc saysBritish singer Adele is past surgery and on the road to recovery, according to folks at the Massachusetts hospital where the procedure to repair her vocal cords was done.

Adele's laser microsurgery was done by the same doctor who treated Steven Tyler in 2006, according to Booster Shots, which has the full, detailed info from Massachusetts General hospital in Boston.

"Adele underwent vocal cord microsurgery by Dr. Steven Zeitels to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage (bleeding) from a benign polyp. This condition is typically the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture," the hospital said, adding that the doc expects a full recovery.

In October, after struggling with voice problems and schedule changes for months, the 23-year-old "Someone Like You" singer canceled the remainder of her 2011 concerts and promotional appearances so she could have the surgery, then rest and recuperate.

One story line to watch: Adele hinted in September that she'd soon be recording the theme song for "Skyfall," the next James Bond film.

Whether producers will keep her on the job until she recovers has yet to be seen — though with a November 2012 opening planned, we'd imagine there's a little leeway before a new crooner simply must be found to serenade her majesty's sexiest spy.

'SNL' slams Kardashian divorce; Kristen Wiig nails Kris Jenner

Kim Kardashian, queen of "Kim's Fairytale Divorce" by Saturday Night LiveHuman suffering should never be a laughing matter, though in the case of Kim Kardashian's 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, well -- bless the cast of "Saturday Night Live" for its take on the Kardashians' reality-TV circus.

This weekend's "SNL," hosted by "Horrible Bosses" star Charlie Day, saw a brilliant short called "Kim's Fairytale Divorce," a mock E! event that gathered the whole Kardashian clan to help Kim sign her freedom papers and throw Humphries some loose change in compensation.

We must note: Kristen Wiig is beyond brilliant as matriarch Kris Jenner, pointing out that Kim didn't get married only to net "a reported $17 million," "she also got married for attention."

Rounding out the sketch are spooftastic appearances from "Bruce Jenner," "Kourtney Kardashian," "Lamar Odom" and a faux Khloe Kardashian -- whose real-life counterpart tweeted her approval of the bit.

"Ha! I just saw the SNL skit they did and I could not stop laughing.... LOL," she wrote Monday.

Nasim Pedrad, as the divorcee-to-be, deftly paints a Kim who copes with heartache by crying, posing and indulging with her siblings in group bleaching of certain off-the-beaten-path private parts.

Enjoy the sketch below -- warning, it has some crude, late-night-style bits -- and give us your thoughts on Kim's divorce in comments.
