Alicia keys was "still buzzin' " at bedtime over the Black Ball, the annual fundraiser for her Keep a Child Alive foundation.

The Grammy-winning singer was riding high till late in the night off the success of her charity event. Around midnight, a trio of tweets from the elated star included: "Forever grateful to everyone who cares about @keepachildalive !!! And every 1 @keepachildalive For EVERY DAY!!Sending love and light!!!"

keys raised $401,500 at the ball and auction held Thursday night at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, according to Hello magazine. Big-ticket items including a dinner party with Edward Norton and Naomi Watts, which went for $25,000, and a lifetime membership to all Donald Trump golf properties, at $180,000.

keys' Keep a Child Alive foundation was created to provide care and treatment for those with HIV/AIDS in Africa and India, focusing in particular on the care of children orphaned or abandoned because of AIDS.

The spirit of the late George Harrison was felt at the event as keys honored him onstage for helping "people change their view of how to act as humanitarians." USA Today reports that Olivia Harrison accepted the award for her husband, saying, "How can you say no to Alicia?"

There were many other celebrities who couldn't say no: keys' husband Swizz Beatz (of course), Serena Williams, Tyra Banks, Queen Latifah, Richie Sambora and Usher, as well as Gary Clark Jr., who with keys performed Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Norah Jones was there for a duet with keys, who concluded the night's entertainment by performing "I Gotta Feeling" with Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am.

That's a fair amount of excitement. No wonder it was hard to settle down for the night -- even with that year-old baby boy at home. keys wrapped her late-night tweets with: "Read something that I loved today... 'Where there is Love, there is no question!' Sweet dreams! ;-)"

If you're going to live a double life, live Pete Wentz's. Though the energetic rocker of Fall Out Boy fame has the face of the sprightly young upstart with a guitar, he's also a 32-year-old dad.

Chatting with the Ministry at a Friday gig in Hollywood, Wentz reflected on managing his job and his son Bronx Mowgli, whom he shares with Ashlee Simpson.

"I feel every parent lives a double life. It's the same on some levels — toddler vomit vs. adult vomit," he said of managing the stage, then diaper duty.

"Kidding!" he added.

But seriously: "I plan my schedule around my son; he's been all over the world already, from Tokyo to Paris. I try to not ever go too many days without seeing him. On stage, I play music and at home I make fart noises and I'm in," he said.

Wentz and his band the Black Cards are the surprise guests for this evening's "Details @ Midnight" sessions, going down with Details magazine at Room 86 in Hollywood. Sound effects pertaining to the body aren't on the set list.
